A case has been registered towards designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun for threatening folks flying Air India and the airline with closure of operations from November 19, the NIA mentioned on Monday.

The case has been registered below the Indian Penal Code and the stringent Illegal Actions (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

In video messages, launched on November 4, Pannun had requested Sikhs to cease flying on Air India planes on and after November 19, citing a possible menace to their lives.

Pannun, the self-proclaimed basic counsel of the outlawed “illegal affiliation”, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), launched the video messages on numerous social media platforms.
