A forest division employees was trampled to loss of life by a wild elephant in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district on Saturday.
Sudhakar B Atram was a driver with the forest division. Following an alert from villagers that wild elephants had entered Palasgaon forest, a forest division group, together with Mr Atram, reached the spot.
Whereas the group was chasing away the herd, Mr Atram parked his car by the roadside and began recording a video. At this level, an elephant began operating in the direction of him. Whereas others managed to flee, Mr Atram tripped and fell. The wild elephant then crushed him to loss of life.
The physique has been despatched for post-mortem and prime officers are investigating the incident.
The tragic incident comes towards the backdrop of elephants from Odisha getting into Maharashtra over the previous couple of years and inflicting large losses to crops.
