Amid this, a terrifying video of a rooftop swimming pool throughout the quake has gone viral on social media.

In one other video, shared on social media a rooftop swimming pool’s water was seen falling like a waterfall from a facet of a skyscraper.

Based on information company AFP, the earthquake is the strongest quake to hit the island in 25 years, with officers warning of extra tremors within the days forward. Taiwanese officers report that it’s the strongest earthquake for the reason that 7.6 magnitude quake that struck the nation in 1999, killing 2,400 individuals. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed anguish on the lack of lives in an earthquake in Taiwan, conveying India’s solidarity with the “resilient” individuals of the nation.

He wrote on X (previously Twitter), “Deeply saddened by the lack of lives as a result of earthquakes in Taiwan at the moment. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved households and needs for a speedy restoration to the injured. We stand in solidarity with the resilient individuals of Taiwan as they endure the aftermath and get better from it.”
